Support Rama Life

Help us keep doing more for young people.

Rama Life is a not-for-profit organisation supporting children, young people and families across South Somerset and North Dorset.

Alongside our much-loved Holiday Club, we run small term-time educational groups for young people who need something different. Some have been let down by the education system, for some the system simply hasn’t worked, and others just need a different place to learn and build confidence.

We keep our groups small, our approach flexible and our prices as affordable as we can.

But doing things this way costs more.

Donations, regular giving and support from local businesses help us keep doing it.

Why we need support

A lot of the funding available to organisations like Rama Life has to be spent on a specific project, activity or group.

That funding is hugely valuable and has helped us do some brilliant things.

But sometimes what we need most is much simpler – money to run Rama Life.

Donations give us flexible income that we can use where it’s needed most. That might be staffing, resources, maintaining and improving our site, replacing equipment or dealing with an unexpected cost.

It might not sound as exciting as funding a brand new project.

But it’s what makes everything else possible.

What your support makes possible

Small groups.

Experienced staff.

A brilliant space to learn, create, cook, play, talk, build things, get outdoors and just be.

Resources and equipment that actually get used.

The ability to respond when a young person needs a little more from us.

Sometimes success is a young person moving on to college, specialist education or work.

Sometimes it’s simply walking through the door.

A little each month adds up

Regular donations give us something incredibly valuable — income we know is coming.

It helps us plan ahead and gives us money we can use wherever Rama Life needs it most.

Whether it’s £5, £10, £20 or something completely different, every regular donation helps.

Could your business support Rama Life?

There are lots of ways businesses and organisations can support what we do.

You could make a one-off or regular donation, fundraise for us, sponsor something we need, donate equipment or materials, or offer professional skills and practical help.

Whether you’re a small local business or a larger organisation, your support can help us keep doing more for children and young people in our community.

You don’t need to know exactly how you’d like to help – get in touch and we can have a chat.

Other ways to help

Not all support has to be financial.

With groups running throughout the week, school holidays and weekends, we get through a surprising amount of stuff!

Art and craft materials, Lego, games, books, stationery, cooking equipment, gardening tools and outdoor resources can all be useful.

We also sometimes need equipment, materials or practical help with our site.

And yes, we still get through an alarming amount of toilet roll.

If you have something you think we could genuinely use, please get in touch before dropping it off – unfortunately our storage isn’t quite as unlimited as our ideas!
