Rama Life Holiday Club - More than just childcare.

Rama Life Holiday Club Somerset

Creative, active holiday childcare for children from Reception to Year 7.  Helping children build confidence, friendships, knowledge and skills during the school holidays.

Rama Life Holiday Club takes place at Frogmary Green Farm, South Petherton (near Ilminster and Yeovil).

Limited to just 24 places per day, we offer a more personal experience, allowing us to get to know every child and create a calm, safe and fun environment where children can build confidence, make friends and enjoy their holidays.

Our experienced team understands that every child is different, and young people who attend benefit from a setting that recognises that we all learn and experience the world in different ways.

Parents Say “My child is always asking to spend another day at Rama Life, so I know you must be doing something good, really well, keep it up!”

Smaller Groups – Bigger Fun

We welcome children once they have started school, provided they are fully toilet trained and able to participate safely within a group environment.

Young people start and end their day together, with most activities taking place in two age groups. This allows older children to enjoy activities and spend time with friends of a similar age, while still remaining part of the wider holiday club community.

Older children benefit from greater challenge, choice and opportunities to build independence, while younger children are supported to explore, learn and grow in a fun, nurturing environment.

Siblings and friends are always welcome to stay together if they wish.

Young People Say “It’s nice to play with different children and do new games”

Active, Creative and Engaging

We spend as much time outdoors as possible and encourage children to try new things, build confidence and develop friendships.

Whether they are crafting, cooking, building, creating, exploring nature or taking part in team challenges, the focus is always on participation, enjoyment and personal growth.

Our themes help keep sessions fresh, varied and engaging. Topics may include nature, history, cultures, adventure, cooking, popular interests and much more.

Children do not need to be interested in the theme to enjoy the day. Every session includes a variety of activities, and many young people discover new interests they never expected to enjoy.

Rama Life Holiday Club

More than just childcare…

Some children arrive feeling nervous about trying something new and some worry they won’t know anyone.

At Rama Life, we create a welcoming environment where children can settle at their own pace, build friendships, explore their interests and discover new strengths.

By the end of the day, it’s common to see children who arrived quietly walking out confidently and already asking when they can come back.

Our goal isn’t simply to keep children occupied during the holidays; it’s to give them experiences that add to their lives, build confidence, nurture new friendships and create memories they’ll carry with them long after the holiday ends.

Parents Say: “They always come out having learned something new and often talk about how fun and kind the leaders are.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my child is shy or nervous?

Many children feel this way at first. Our team takes time to help new children settle in and feel comfortable. There is no pressure to join every activity, and children are encouraged to participate at their own pace.

Do children have to take part in all activities?

No. We encourage participation, but children can choose how they engage. The most important thing is that they feel comfortable and enjoy their day.

Can siblings stay together?

Yes. While activities are usually organised in age groups, siblings and friends are welcome to spend time together if they wish.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We spend as much time outdoors as possible, but activities can be adapted to our indoor spaces when the weather is wet or very cold.

My child is neurodivergent or has SEND – can they attend?

Our team has significant experience supporting neurodivergent young people and those with SEND. If your child may need additional support, please get in touch so we can discuss whether our setting is the right fit for them.

Please note that we are unable to provide 1:1 support and are not the right setting for young people who are at significant risk of dysregulation or are unable to stay safe in a group setting.

Our Ethos

Rama Youth encourage young people to form their own opinions and learn how to respect others, that may differ from them.  We encourage discussion and debate in a positive way.  We do not promote or deny any religion, faith or belief system and we are always interested in hearing about the international links that many of our attendees have.

We promote the concept that art is a personal thing and doesn’t need to  be compared to others.  If you want it to look different, then just keep practising and remember, that what you may see as “failure”, is just part of the road to success.

We actively encourage being active, having good self-care and building communication skills.
